In “bio-dynamic agriculture,” composting aids “elemental beings termed gnomes, below the earth’s surface, [to] help plant roots to grow, and the astral aura of cows nourishes the gnomes.”20 “Anthroposophic medicine” presumes that the human body is more than a biological organism.21 “Social Threefolding” uses anthroposophy to preserve the independence of economic, political, and cultural (education, science, art, religion) institutions.22
